As we head towards global catastrophe, perhaps it is good that events such as the car show in Paso Robles are put to an end—altogether. So-called motorsports are the flagship of an unsustainable society, a fixture of car-culture that must be put to rest. The sooner we do so, the better off we'll all be.

The flagship of unsustainability
I've been published in the Tribune! Well, sort of. I sent the following letter in response to a number of letters supporting the car show in Paso Robles, which the city council decided to put a stop to citing safety concerns. The show has been moved to Santa Maria. Many disgruntled car enthusiasts from north county wrote in to criticize the council's decision, and even the editorial staff of the Tribune supported reinstatement of the car show. Here's my two cents:
