Coming to UC Davis undeclared, I've been putting a lot of thought into what I want to do here. I've set myself up this quarter with the classes necessary to go into anything from biomedical engineering to geology to neurobiology. But what I want to study is Biological Sciences and Nature and Culture.
I've learned some things in my first month here: I like to read interesting articles, I have little natural aptitude for math, I am interested in the general study of major topics but the specifics sometimes throw me, and I miss being able to ride my bike to visit amazing natural places like the dunes, Black Lake Canyon, and the Temetatte. With this knowledge in mind, I think I finally came to the decision of what I want to study--for now.
I also have some outstanding promises to Bill Denneen and Herb Kandel that I want to keep: that I'll study biology and come back and protect the natural areas around Nipomo and the rest of SLO county. These are my goals for now.
